The 'Citizens for Open Access to Civic Information and Data (COACID)' (or CivicAccess for short!) wiki is designed to encourage people to share, interact, find, and explore information and data access issues.
The more people share their knowledge, the merrier and as a warmer upper here are some ways to do so:
'1. Share information'
Point people to people, data, information, maps, initiatiaves, announcements, technologies, associations, communities, issues etc. Read SiteInfo for the how to bits. You can also do this on [http://civicaccess.ca/mailman/listinfo/civicaccess-discuss_civicaccess.ca/civicaccess-discuss]
'2. Interact'
Discuss, share ideas, debate, plan, make suggestions, build, and etc. with others on the mailing list: civicaccess-discuss
'3. Take Action'
Encourage institutions to share data, start a working group to build technologies that make data accessible, support local groups trying to acquire data, develop an education campaign, or any other activity. All ideas are good! These actions can be posted here (see SiteInfo) or on the mailing list civicaccess-discuss
'4. Other Stuff'
Propose projects. Even if you don't have all of the necessary time, skills, resources to make it happen maybe someone else will bring it to life - or will provide the things you were missing.
Citizens for Open Access to Civic Information and Data (COACID) is created by us, and for us.
